I spotted this yesterday, but since then it’s appeared on several different blogs I frequent, so I guess it deserves a passing mention here: The Orwell Prize, to celebrate Orwell’s life and work, is publishing his diaries online for their 70th birthday. It’s a great look into the abstract but so far quotidian aspects of Orwell’s life. Currently, they are only publishing his personal diaries; however on September 7th they will begin publishing his political diaries, which should be considerably more compelling.
